The alkaline pH filter is really helpful in contributing to the better taste. It raises the pH of my iSpring RO water about 1.1 and which is almost same as my source water. The result is awesome.

This is our first water filtration system. Main reason why we chose this system over others is the value for the price as well as the cost and availability of replacement filters. The quality of all the parts, filters, and facet was beyond our expectations. The system works great and our water tastes better than bottled. We bought the a TDS meter and the water measures at around 22 ppm which is lower than both our faucet as well as bottled water.Installation is not too complicated but does require some time as well as basic plumbing knowledge. Overall the instructions are very easy to follow and explain step by step what needs to be done. We did have a few leaks around the RO membrane filter but that was only due to not tightening the cap enough. Once everything was connected we flushed the system several times after the tank was connected (opening a convenient valve) before the water came out clear. It did take a while longer to eliminate air bubbles but that did not effect the taste or quality of the water.iSpring Water systems has great material online to help with installation as well as personal customer support. Just ask for Josh. Overall we could not be more satisfied with this product and recommend it to anyone that is looking for a relatively inexpensive and quality water filtration system.

I have used RO (reverse osmosis) water filter systems for 20 years. I like them because the water taste better and they are more convient than bottled water. Also since bottled water is bulk filtered it is not filtered as completely as a good home RO system does. Lastly I like the fact that I dont end up putting plastic bottles in land fills, rivers, lakes, and oceans. This is my fourth system and my first iSprings system. I had owned Watts systems in the past and they worked fine but I wanted system that did not filter out the good stuff in the water. This iSprings system reintroduces the calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium that my other systems filtered out and did not reintroduce or replace in the water. The water taste great, and Im getting all the good stuff that was in the water to begin with. Im giving only four stars NOT because any lack of performance on the part of this system but because I wish the system was easier to install. Its not anything a good handyman cant do. I did it and Im no great person with tools but you are on your hands and knees and/or back, under a sink putting tube "a" into valve #2 etc. Josh at iSpring was good at getting back to me quickly and helping me. Great water filter would like a easier installation package.

Installed this a week ago and really like the taste and freshness. During the install I did need to drain the tank fully twice before the water came out clear without and carbon residue. Also the mineral taste was strong until it was drained. After the 3rd tank the water was clear and tastes great. Install was straight forward and although it took an hour or two the instructions were good. The water pressure is the best part as it is faster then our fridge filter and the water tastes better too.

I live in Montana with a super well but it does have some minerals in it as well as being super soft...........so soft in fact I have to add calcite to keep the copper pipes from wearing away. When I first got the system and opened the box I was shocked.........Ive never seen anything similar so perfectly packed, so my first reaction was these guys are serious and want to present their product well. Installation went very smoothly. The instructions were excellent. I immediately noticed the taste of the water was very different. It reminded me of the water we get at Costco, which is RO apparently, at least at the time. I am a serious cook and I immediately noticed a different and good taste to various foods we prepared with the RO water. I have drip as well as an automatic expresso machine. Coffee from both devices was much more enjoyable. My wife makes iced tea daily and stores it in a translucent polyethelene pitcher. After rinsing the pitcher and making more tea the inside collected a dark brown stain that increased daily until it was opague. It had to be scrubbed out with a stiff brush and soap/water. With the RO all of that is now history, absolutely no stain at all. Ditto for stainless steel insulated coffee mugs. When I am too lazy to spend hours making beef stock for au jus I would use the packaged powder au jus..........it was tolerable but not close to the real thing. I mixed up a batch of the same package with the RO and oh my goodness, what a difference. Now it tastes so close to the homemade stuff I dont even bother with it. Same thing with packaged beverage mixes......vastly superior taste. Think about it, tap water contains all sorts of chemicals and minerals. Each of these has something to contribute to a concoction to alter its taste in one way or another. You really have no idea what you are dealing with with respect to the various additions of stuff in tap water. I liked the system so much I bought another for a friend. Everyone in his family loves it and uses it exclusively for drinking, cooking, even brushing teeth and his wife and teenage daughter even prefer it for makeup stuff. He shared a funny story, his sister came to visit with along with her 4 kids. Everyone loved it (in fact my friend sent one to his sister after the visit) except for the 5 year old. He was asked which he like best and he pointed to the tap water, because it is faster. My friend then said then why do you always use the slow water.......he said I only use that one because it tastes better. It not only saves a lot of money from bottled but is environmentally friendly because I no longer have to throw away thousands of plastic bottles. Highly Recommended, sure works for me and my friends.

Reverse osmosis is good but be sure to add a high quality mineral-adding filter
